You May Qualify For Up to $500 Federal Tax Credit With Residential Window Film
The International Window Film Association (IWFA) has released information that you may be eligible for a Federal tax credit up to $500 for installing residential window film to your home under the qualified energy improvements designed to reduce heat loss or gain of your primary home. Residential window films are considered an insulation material or system for this tax credit. Information and instructions from the IRS on how to use this credit can be found on their website using Form 5696 here. If you have taken more than $500 in nonbusiness energy property credits in previous years you may not qualify for the credit in 2020. The IWFA and Integrity Window Tinting recommends consulting with a tax advisor if you wish to file for this credit.
Residential window films from Integrity Window Tinting window films can lower heating and cooling expenses by reducing solar heat from the outside, reducing hot and cold spots inside, and helping to prohibit heat from escaping. Our window tint, also called window film or solar film, will keep you warm in the winter by adding an insulating barrier to your windows which helps to keep warm air that is created by your heater from escaping through the glass panes. This same tint during the summer time can block up to 82% of the sun’s heat from penetrating through the glass panes which will keep your home cooler in the summer.
